Graduated from VTC in civil engineering; went to work for a consulting engineering firm in North Springfield, Vermont. Spent a year there and went back to school. I packed up and headed to UVM. Three years later I graduated and went to work for the same engineering firm, but in their Portland, Maine office. I spent almost ten years in Maine before moving out.
In early 1991 I met my wife (Elizabeth) and we were married later that same year. When I met her she was teaching Middle School on Cape Cod with my brother's wife. We lived in Maine for a short period before I changed jobs and we moved to Massachusetts. Elizabeth was born just outside of Boston and wanted to move closer to Boston. I went to work for another engineering firm and Liz was able to transfer to the Wakefield office of the environmental engineering firm she worked for in Portland. After we had been married for 3 years, we had our first child (Eamon). It has been fun watching him grow. He loves to go visit my parents in Vermont because of all the open spaces where he can run around.
At the end of 2007 I left the engineering profession. I have decided to change careers and have started on the road to becoming a teacher (middle school math). Right now I am taking education classes at a local college and substitute teaching at the local middle and high schools. I have also started taking the tests required to obtain a teaching license n Massachusetts. I'm hoping that by the end of this year I will have my license and a full-time teaching position. We live in Marblehead, Massachusetts which is about 15 miles north of Boston.
