I graduated from Lyndon State College and was secretary for Lyndon Institute for several years, then taught preschool while my kids were little. At this point, I am home full-time as we homeschool our kids, and find this to be the greatest joy for me! (I also homeschool another teenage boy, which can be quite challenging) My "extra curricular" activities include teaching the junior high Sunday School class and directing the children' choir at our church. I also paint (oil paintings) when I have time, and I make crafts - puppets mostly - to sell at craft fairs. My favorite fun thing to do is go on dates with my husband!!!
My husband's name is Michael. He's an investigator for insurance claims, after being a police officer for 12 years before that. We've been married 23 1/2 years, and have 3 birth children: Jacob (he's a professional artist and published author), Tessie (she just started college in Wisconsin and I miss her dreadfully!) and Joe. We also have had many, MANY other foster children of all ages living with us through the years.
We built our own home 13 years ago, starting with cutting down the trees in the woods to make a clearing, then renting a portable sawmill to cut the trees into lumber. It was an amazing process that continues on as we remodel or add a deck or build a garage. It's been a trip. I keep busy with church activities and I love to read and write and paint pictures.
I had the pleasure of seeing Mary Fifield last December. I hadn't seen her since the day we graduated. She looks beautiful. And she's still so MARY! I enjoy seeing Trish Turner on occasion around this area. Her little girl is a doll - looks just like her mother!
